In this third edition of this course, I decided to go bigger (and better)!
If you feel listening is a difficult skill and your students are not really showing much improvement despite your efforts to work on listening on a regular basis, this course is for you! This was originally a successful 4-hour course, but now I decided to expand the pronunciation component of the course, as well as add how you can show students their progress.
During this 8-hour long course, you will:
- See the difference between listening lessons and listening activities;
- Look at different approaches to listening and have practical examples of how to use them in class;
- Revisit and expand the concepts of bottom-up and top-down processing;
- Study how pronunciation and listening are related;
- Learn about activities for you to work on pronunciation and improve your students’ listening skills;
- Learn how to show learners their listening abilities are improving;
- Explore different suggestions and resources to improve learners’ skills.
